Move over Diesel, Electric Big Rig’s may be replacing you soon.

The news of J.B. Hunt and Walmart’s orders to Tesla purchasing their new class 8 semi-truck which were unveiled by CEO and founder Elon Musk in California last Thursday evening.

Of the purchased semi-truck’s, Walmart placed an order for a total of 15 Electric Semi’s in which five will be

tested in the USA and 10 will be used in Canada. J.B. Hunt however has ordered reportedly “several” trucks that are set to be made in 2019.

If you would like one of these electric tractor trailer setup’s, Tesla is now taking reservations for these for a cool $5,000 per reservation.

At the Hawthorne, California facility Elon introduced these trucks and stated that each Semi would be able to produce a staggering 500 miles at full load and highway speeds. Elon also touts his new electric truck will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 20 seconds with a maximum load of 80,000 lbs.
